Orbs of Amber Energy
Careening towards my eyes
The Blackest blackness
revealed in the light.
Spirals, golden and fast-
like the moment after a camera flash.
Excitement and Dread
combine for a terrifying future.
"dont get your hopes up"
But how to stop floating after a thought
likened to a lottery
an opportunity
the one thing you want
is dangled so close and appears
so easy to grasp
and you're told that a ~GASP~
may be premature.
This thing might be much farther
away than it appears
in the mirror.
I fear.
Waiting for the film to develop.
