A wall
Stones and mortar
Gray and wet and mean
and I can't see you
I can't reach you
You just built it

So quickly you became a stonemason
I don't know why I thought my patch of earth
was one that you also enjoyed

Stay there alone in your makeshift castle
I will stand here crying
Making a moat for you out of my tears

As if I had a choice

As if I had any way
To stop you
To keep you
To make you mine
You don't exist
